After finish the work work work and due to the heavy rain aftre work, plan to send sogua back to home. But before that, have to think about my dinner, where to “ciak”? hmm.. some where that we will not caught in rain. So I suggested KL Sentral. Ah Max, Ah Chua and Ah Paul. 3 of us to to KL Sentral, petrol around look for a place to dine. If you ask them make decision, I think until 12am they also don’t know where to “ciak”. Again, I suggested my favourite fast food restaurant – KFC!

Ei, before that. Lin went something wrong! Why? Heavy rain, and his car parked 500m far away from our office, when we are leaving to KL Sentral. Supricing he didn’t ask me go give him a lift to get his car. How come? Well.. I think I bully him too much and make him fear to ask for help from me? Heheh, well… If he don’t ask I also need to sek zhou la right? So.. I open my heart and offer him a lift. 🙂

Now, Sogua.Dinasour.Takizo are using Timezone Broadband in KL Sentral KFC, I am blogging. There other is hunting something online, what they hunt? Ask them lo.

It’s late now, suppose to sleep now, but want to blog for a while!

Yes, I got my IBM Thinkpad X40. It’s really great, light, durable! On performance side, it’s good enough for me(I only develop web application coding ma, and I don’t play game).

Intel Centrino 1.5 Ghz
40GB HDD (Minidisc?)
1.24GB RAM768MB RAM(max is 1265MB)
Wi-Fi B/G
External (really slim) Combo Drive!
One damn cute backpack
and etc

Want to know more? Please give me some time to play with it, it come with a lot of good stuff, especially the HDD active protection system. I will get more picture up on Monday. Why take so long? Need to reinstall everything ma!

Unix/Linux? No to Danny
Hahaha, Friday evening, while I am playing with WINE and CrossOver Office, Danny said it’s cool, he said will run Linux on his laptop from Friday night! I just received a sms from him “I will install back windows.. …” Heh, I think that photoshop & Flash MX don’t really works on WINE or CrossOver, for time being, due to new project need a lot of designing, I will still with Windows, until I can find a stable Window Emulator

PHP Meet Up
Malaysia PHP User Group 2nd meet up held tonight. Well, thank for Mohan and Suthen from Asix Solutions present on Profiling PHP using Xdebug and APD. Tools to track loading time of your PHP script and fine tune your application loading time.

Amran from php.net.my turned up tonight, we have the idea to merge both of the group. If possible, myoss in the group as well, so we become Malaysian Open Source group? If the group help the community, why not right? by that time, we need a hall to held the meet up 🙂

Unix FreeBSD with Windows Application
Stop bloging for few weeks, work on some freelance project and research on running Photoshop and Flash MX on unix FreeBSD using WINE/Crossover Office. I always think to run Unix on my laptop, it will help me a lot on apache programming and PHP development, so doesn’t need to SSH to server and do development. It require INTERNET all the time. Running Apache & PHP in windows is limited, you can really play arround with it. I have the problem if running unix, I CAN’T photoshop and Flash MX anymore. WINE/CrossOver Office only support Photoshop 7.0, just found out the emulator today. still need more time to experiment on it!

Takizo Technology?
Heh, Mohan asked me what does TAKIZO mean. First, What is Takizo Technology? Takizo Technology is a company name to run my freelancing business, Takizo Technology established since year July, 2003.

What does Takizo mean? Well, I use the nickname Takizo since year 1997, from IRC to messenger, to email, to company, to membership name. Well takizo@hotmail.com, takizo@yahoo.com, takizo@gmail.com, takizo@mail.com and etc are own by me. Why I came out the name TAKIZO, please… Don’t ask me what is TAKIZO mean, I have no idea. But I will tell you how TAKIZO borned!

Back to year 1997, everybody love to watch Japanese drama, listen to Japanese song. Well, I love the band Lunar Sea, especially their God, Give Me More Time theme song – “All For You”, the guitarist Sugizo rocks! Back to Internet, I hate thinking of the username with registering new membership, paulooi/paul are always taken by somebody, so need to have paul123, paul83, paul05, paulxxx… Sick to think of it, and every membership account in different site have different member name. I am so sick to think of the member name. So why not “centralize” it, so I start to think of a nick name. So, a very quick brainstorm,
TA – stand for japanese/taiwan actor, TAkashi Kaneshiro
KI – stand for japanese actor, Kimura Takuya
ZO – stand for Lunar Sea guitarist, Sugizo

Malaysian Open Source Online Magazine website officialy launched this morning. This magazine is created by Ow Mun Heng, and the website is built by me and hosted by Takizo Technology. Looking forward to get positive feedback from the community. We are looking people to contribute us article, anything about open source! You are welcome to contribute

Gosh…… Finally I got my laptop adapter RM115, new server motherboard RM400, new RAID Card RM300, new 120GB x 2 HDD RM700. What a bad week for me, took 3 days to make my wallet empty! Now is only early of the month….

But, it’s glad everything is on track now. Got to work hard and earn back the losses. Good experience on data recovery and hardware RAID. I got invest on a intermediate level – kind of RAID card, to cut down recovery time. In case there is HDD burnt again.

Basicaly, I wish weekend coming soon. Then I can rest and work on new server configuration. Probably will work on python programming next. There is an open source meet up tonight, the topics are FreeBSD Jail/Virtual Machine and Asterisk (PBX/VOIP open source). Beside that Ow is going to announce his “secret project” that I work with him. Everybody are welcome!

This is a really bad news for me, called from HP and they said my laptop adapter can’t replace, why? it’s because my wire seem like biten or cut off by something. Beside that, my server always hang recently. Today I have to bring back from data center check out what problem is happening.

Holly shit. My laptop adapter gone, unable to online now. I have to go office often to borrow adapter from my colleague and get my laptop charge! Why a bad bad bad week for me.

Look! Malaysian – Beware of China People in Malaysia. Ah, damn… sad story, this is another morale of the story. Read it on. Today, after finished lunch with my fellow colleague, I am heading to take ERL to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. I’m about… let me count, I think is 10 foot step, will reach the counter and buy the ERL ticket. Suddently, there is one girl(UNKNOWN) stop me, the language slang from her mouth — Ya, China Girl.

Story goes here, she told me that she is short of cash and need money to fly back to Shang Hai, China. She shown me her passport, china identification card, company name card, fligh tickets to Hong Kong. The story is damn perfect, she told me money is finish using and her credit card already reach the limit. Beside that, she needs some cash from Hong Kong go to Shang Hai, and continue bla bla bla. Finally, the point is here, she wants to borrow RM150 from and she said will TT the money to me when she reach Shang Hai. She get my phone no, name card and everthing which she needs.

At first, of course I don’t believe. Then … “Da Ta!” Her mum show up, a very old woman, which is grandma type. Come to me and said “Young man, we need your help, we are really out of cash and hope you can give us a hand and allow us safely go back our homeland. haih, I am such a good person, the grandma explain til so…… ….. ….. then i take out RM150 and borrow them. Grandma said, once they arrive Shang Hai will give me a call. Let me know they arrive there safely and TT the money to me.

Ok, money on their hand, I am rushing to the ERL. While I am in the ERL, I took out the name card and find out what’s her email address, was thinking to send an email to her and remind her to return RM150 to me. OH MY GOD! FUCK, what the hell. Her email address zhangli@asia.com! Wow, ASIA.com can you believe she works with ASIA.com? I start to suspect is the domain available, since ASIA.com is not a _HOT_ domain everybody want. I made called to my colleague, ask them check is ASIA.com a recycling company(Her name card wrote that is a recycling company). Hahaha.. what is ASIA.COM? Check out your own, next I ask them to host the domain name see wether got MX mail server running or not. Yea, got, telnet to ASIA.COM port 110. Trying send an email to zhangli@asia.com — USER UNKNOWN. Oh…. now I know…. Paul Ooi got cons by one China Mama and China Daugther!

The morale of the story,
– Act you do not know Mandarin when you see China people
– Do not simply give money to people, no matter with old grandma or what
– Ask China people go China Embassy if they need help!

Suck, RM150 gone! Am now in KLIA terminal, AirAsia delay the flight again. This is the 6th times I took AirAsia, 4 out of 6 times I experience with the delayed flight. What to do.. so cheap.. Wait lo.

Safely arrive home, good landing.

Took half day leave today, 5pm flight back to Alor Setar for “Cheng Beng” tomorrow. Everything is prepared for Sunday server migration. Config file, new ip address, DNS zone config and etc, everything is done. Hope can cut down the downtime during the migration of the servers! Yes, my flight is Sunday morning, when arrive KL, first thing is go to Data Center and move servers =(
